I do not like making posts like these. As the event coordinator for the group, I’m going to take some ownership here. I had on our calendar that the date for this event was August 15th for months. Turns out, it’s actually THIS weekend the 22nd. Due to that and other scheduling conflicts within the group, the Iowa Ghostbusters will not be walking in the Founder’s Day parade or hanging out at the Candy Kitchen this Saturday. We do hope that if you’re in the area of Wilton, IA that you come check out their festivities that actually kick-off tomorrow. Also, if you haven’t been to the Candy Kitchen, you absolutely should go!!
What really stinks about missing this date is that was going to be our first partnership with the Brave Like Brooks Foundation. They are also out of Wilton, IA. The foundation started shortly after they lost little Brooks to pediatric cancer. In the name of their brave little guy, they gather resources to help families who are suffering with the effects of pediatric cancer. You may have seen some Brave Like Brooks merch on Ecto Hawk. Please check out the foundation and help out if you can. We certainly hope to do further work with them in the future!!
