With members spanning from Galena, IL to Des Monies, IA, we cover a lot of ground. This means all sorts of public appearances across Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa for various local charities and events. We take a lot of pride in donning the proton packs for the greater good of our respective communities (even if it isn’t for the greater good for our backs).
Our most dear charitable cause is donating money to the Stead Family Children’s Hospital at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Every dollar donated (unless specified for the event) goes towards Stead’s via a check from our EIN account or via our Gold Rush site provided by the University of Iowa Center for Advancement. Even more special, as we are a Sony and Ghost Corps recognized franchise, we participate in the Ghostbusters Give Back. This is a partnership between Sony/Ghost Corps, Starlight Children’s Foundation, the Iowa Ghostbusters, and the Stead Family Children’s Hospital. Every dollar we give to Stead’s is matched by Sony to Starlight, which is then used to purchase Ghostbusters inspired hospital gowns for the kiddos who have an extended stay at Stead’s. We just wrapped up our first year campaign and were able to give $4,000 to Stead’s ($1000 was donated prior to the start of GB Give Back).
